Is there good free software that lets you record your computer screen?

I found 2 but one didn’t work and the other one slowed my computer. Is there free software that records the computer screen that is easy to use and doesn’t slow down the computer?
I have windows XP.

If you press "Print Screen" key on your keyboard it will take a snapshot of your screen. If you paste it into the Paint program you will have the screenshot.

If you actually want to record the action on your screen like Camtasia does, look here:

Where can I download a free ipod nano to computer transfer software?

I’m trying to upload all my ipod nano music to my computer, but every program doesn’t work for a nano, doesn’t register my files, or says it’s free and then when I download it and try to upload my files it tells me that I’m only limited to a small number of files i can upload. I need a free software which i can upload my 1300 music files from my nano.

Try "iDump" fella. Takes all the songs from your iPod and puts them into folders according to album, artist or whatever. And best of all, it’s completely free! You can get it from places like softpedia.com or filehippo.com….

what do you think are the advantages of having free computer software? and why? Thanks?

advantagaes of free software.

The only advantage is if you find the software useful and trouble free. And that goes for shareware also. Note: there are a lot of freeware programs that are better than their shareware counterparts.

Download and use "Audacity", it records, rips, and burns audio files. From:

What is the name of the free computer software that lets you split voice files?

It begins with an A. Lets you sort voice files from a dictaphone etc

If you’re just talking about normal .WAV files, you can split those with Audacity pretty easily.
