where can you find more information and whats the best way to get started. Ive trained for 7 years for a top-notched school and am certified in many software programs. Id like to start teaching freelance to gain freedom and flexibility.

You can go on line and train yourself. If you spend the time and research, you can even email the companies who make the software programs. Many of them will allow you to use their teaching software to learn from.

I love to train people and computers are what I’m best at. A small part of my job now is to do software training internally and I love it. I’ve done everything from one-on-one training to an all day seminar in front of 30 people. I think it’s what I want to do as a career. How do I get started on the right path?

I would create a one page flyer showing the work you’ve done and just go around to different companies in your neighborhood and drop them off. Also call up different consulting companies and see if they have any leads. You never know.

Training centers are very much profitable these days. Only thing is you should get good trainers. The registration with an institute doesnt cost much. Initialy cost may involve only on the set up and tools you buy.

Would Microsoft Netmeeting be the best thing to use? I want something that I can setup on my end, and my customer can login on their end and see me my mouse clicking and moving around on the screen. They will obviously need to have a speaker phone in order to hear me talking. Also, at the end of each lesson I want to somehow switch things around so I can see their mouse clicking and moving around on the screen.
That will allow me to quiz them and ensure they are doing the steps correctly.

Netmeeting will permit you to accomplish what you want. You just need to enable desktop sharing. When you want to be the ‘instructor’, you will share your desktop with the student. When you want to watch what the student does, you will need to let the student enable desktop sharing. Just be aware that bandwidth is a critical consideration… both of you should be on broadband (DSL or cable modem) and should have similar configuration.

If your student does not have the same software on his/her computer, and will be executing the actual mouseclicks and data entry on your computer, you will need to grant them control of your screen through Netmeeting.

You can sell your software on multiple sights all over the internet. You will have to get your software idea patented and from there you just press the CD or sell it as a download.

Packaging can be anything from a CD case to a box. I’ve created software and sold it as a download only or if it was needed on CD have them pay extra S&H just in case your shipping your product to Cambodia.

After you have a patent on it you then contact the web site vendors and they will tell you what to do from there usually its as simple as sending the product to them and they will make it distributable to all. You will have to pay a fee for that to happen though. Make sure you have a good registry system in place for it so people don’t make duplicates of your hard work.

You can also create your own web site that shows the demo of the product and post it with any web site hosting companies usually a fee too.

My software is a niche product used only in the health care field it was a "make once sell x amount of times" and I pull about 30K from it anually before expenses (web site fees). No overhead, and I field about 2 help questions a week for it via email.

Good luck it will be well worth it once your finished.

I’ve owned a computer for the last 5 years, and I know how to do basic things just to get by, but in terms of general hardware and software know-how, I need major help!!!! Do you have any suggestions on where I can get some advice/training on computer fundamentals…hardware info that is not difficult to understand- hopefully in a visual format or with a live instructor…and eventually more advanced software programs?
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
