What is the best computer to use for a home business?

I am starting a home based business. Is it better to go with a notebook or desktop computer? What business software, if any, would be recommended? Thanks

~~Either will do you well. I like laptops for portability, but we also have a shared desktop which comes in handy too. For stability and reliability, I suggest either a Dell (my absolute favorite) or an Apple.

For business software we have always used Quickbooks. Very user friendly and they have a software program to fill every type of business need. Very easy to look and compare at www.quickbooks.com

Best of luck with everything!~~

I am starting a computer sales/repair business. What software would you recommend using?

I am thinking of using Peachtree or Quickbooks, but is there something easier, or better, that anyone can recommend? If not, which of those 2 is better? Thanks.

QuickBooks is pretty easy.

I have used QuickBooks for about 4 years now. It has its quirks but, overall, I like it. However, I am an accountant.

I played around with Peachtree years ago and I thought that is was over the head of most people.

how to open a computer software business?

Well, that’s a very general question so it’s going to be hard to give you a specific answer. Having said that, there are some resources available that can help you if you are interested in starting your own software business (see websites listed below).

If your business would be selling low-priced (say under $100) software to consumers (home users), then the simplest and best approach is to focus online. Build a professional website that is optimized for the search engines, have some great content that the search engines will want to bring people to, create buzz in blogs/forums.

Hope this helps,

Should i go into computer software engineering or business and marketing?

i am a senior that is going to college, but cant pick between these two. I would also like to ask yall which degree would probably have me paid more in the future. Thanks

A computer software engineering degree requires a certain level of math skills although it may be less than required by a computer science degree. Can you learn to do Trigonometry and Calculus? Make sure you can if the degree requires it before you commit. You don’t need it for many software development positions but your talking degrees here.

That said, you can also look into "Business Analyst" which is on the interface between Software Development and the end-user departments. It requires some technical competence but it also requires business and marketing knowlege.

What film is this -guy is software/computer expert & employed by big business, but finds out they’re evil…?

I can’t remember what film this is but can remember the plot;

A guy and his friend are software/computer experts and are taken on by a big computer/software business. He begins to find out that the head of the business is awful and, works out that they killed his friend (spied on him using fibre optic) and his girlfriend is a spy working for them

(I don’t remember any actor’s or actress’s names) and i think it was made late 90’s/ early 00’s)

Please help!!

I am starting a computer Repair business what type of software can I use to do work orders and other things?

I want to know what can I use for account, work orders, and time and billing tickets and everything else. Also before I start a computer repair business what should I do first? What tools will i need?

I use Quick book, you can buy an older version cheap on eBay.
You need to decide if you want to be a sole owner,LLC, or Corp.
But with the price of computer going down, it may be like VCR, if broken buy a new one.
